Known and New Migri Issues

This page contains a brief, updated, listing of important new issues reported in Migri after the date of the most current release and aims to help Migri users who have concerns about problems they may experience. The reported issues will be fixed in later releases.

Wells/Map onto all layer option may slow down graphics considerably when working with many layers and/or large well datasets. Partly fixed in 2.3.3 2.2.1

Model bounding box Z-axis may show uneven numbers when Scaledepth > 1.0.

Workaround: Use even numbers for the scaledepth value (e.g. 2,4,8..)

Picked points and lines may be shown at the wrong depth when using Depthscale > 1 Fixed in 2.3.3  2.3.0
The TrapViewer table column sorting is in alphanumerical order instead of numerical.  Fixed in 2.3.3  2.3.0
Special characters (e.g. Æ,Å,Ø) in filepaths are sometimes not handled correctly.  Fixed in 2.3.2 2.3.0
Observation table editor may crash when filtering data while using column sorting.  Fixed in 2.3.2 2.3.1
Reported volumes in stochastic “Available to Traps” plot are sometimes too small Fixed in 2.3.0 2.2.1

"Show layer boundaries" option in Wells does not function correctly. Fixed in 2.3.0 2.2.1
"Show clip plane profile" may create a profile at wrong angle. Fixed in 2.3.0 2.2.1
Changing the current sublayer in 2D view has not effect. The topmost sublayer is always shown. Fixed in 2.3.0 2.2.1

Model geometry building may crash when using fault polygon input files with very high number of points.

Fix: Large faultfiles will now be automatically filtered. This option may be changed by setting Project.faultsfilter.

Interactive label editing (LMB double click) may occasionally cause crash. Fixed in 2.2.1 2.2.0
2D view does not zoom corrrectly when loading saved views. Fixed in 2.2.0

“Filter undefined” and “Filter out-of range vales” options for profiles do not work for the HC.flowrates property Fixed in 2.1.0 2.0.0

The "Save Property as..." option on Linux does not assign a subfix to the filename corresponding to the selected filetype filter (e.g .shp subfix for shape files).

This needs to be done manually by the user for now.

TrapViewer may occasionally crash when running with 7 HC components or more. Fixed in 2.0.4 2.0.0
Migri may crash when using the "Picked polygon" option in Drainage Area Analysis with multiple polygons. Fixed in 2.0.4 2.0.2
Cannot pick 3D points outside of the model in 2d view model. Fixed in 2.0.2 2.0.0
Importing POL files into Selection Info gives invalid XY point coordinates. Fixed in 2.0.2 2.0.0

Migri may crash on Linux when using File->Exit to close the application and immediately afterwards moving the mouse cursor into the 3dview.

The Layout/2D Scalebar option also activates the model bounding box when in 3dview mode. Fixed in 2.0.2 2.0.0
Rotation point is reset when switching between 3d and 2d mode. Fixed in 2.0.4 2.0.0
Some types of annotations do not yet account for z-axis scaling/stretching. The labels may therefore be displayed in the wrong z-positions. Fixed in 2.0.1 2.0.0
Conversion of 3D seismic RSF files to MIRS is not yet possible on Linux Fixed in 2.0.1 2.0.0

Risk chart sometimes opens in a very small window. Fixed in 1.4.0 1.3.10
Relative paths are not set correctly in the History Editor after using the "Load histories from file" button. Fixed in 1.3.10 1.3.8

When loading Petromod v12 histories, any spaces in the prefix and subfix fields in the histories editor need to be replaced by a "^" for Migri to be able to load the files. Fixed in 1.2.0 1.1.0
When saving, the time-step editor will occasionally be corrupted. Fixed in 1.2.0 1.1.0
Some models may crash when first selecting TWT or Age as timestep and afterwards selecting 0Ma. Fixed in 1.2.0 1.1.0
Unable to load xyz files into Selection Info panel when all layers are hidden. Fixed in 1.2.0 1.1.0

MigriBee does not accept longer paths than 200 characters. Note: The max filepath length on Windows systems is 256 characters, while Linux has no limit.

The accuracy of the depth model created by Migri and the accuracy of the burial history has been an issue for some users. Burial history accuracy is, in our experience, in the +-5m range for paleodepths and +- 10 cm for the present day depths.

History grids (Eroded, Sedimentsurface, Temperature.surface, etc) need to use the same AOI (area of interest) as the geometry used in the modelling. 

Workaround: use the Migri Explorer to resample these grids and use the resampled grids as input.

Not everything is stored yet when exporting to MIRZ format, e.g. wells and streams. See user doc 1.0.8

Maturity plots, including Maturity.windows may be corrupted if you navigate back and forward between timesteps. 

Workaround: when using these properties always move forward in time.
